Finnish freediver Johanna Nordblad has set a new Guinness World Record with an under-ice swim without fins or wetsuit.
The 45-year-old Nordblad swam a CMAS-certified 103 meters (338 feet) beneath 60-cm (1.97-foot) thick ice at Lake Ollori near Hossa, Finland on March 18th.
The air temperature on the day was -7 degrees Celsius (19.4F), and Nordblad conducted the swim in 2 minutes and 42 seconds.
Nordblad’s swim bested the record set on March 6, when Russian freediver Ekaterina Nekrasova swam 102.7 meters (336.9 feet) under the ice.
