Ukraine’s Kateryna Sadurska set her ninth women’s freediving world record at the CMAS Deep Dominica competition.
Sadurska dove to 88m/289ft in the Constant Weight No Fins (CNF) discipline.
In an Instagram post, she wrote:
“I’ve been dreaming about this dive since last year, and I’m so happy it happened today.
“88 meters — no fins, one breath, 3 minutes 30 seconds, my 9th World Record in this discipline and it’s hard to believe but it’s 14 meters deeper than my first one which I set back in 2023.
“I promised myself to be happy and keep this happiness for as long as I can and I want to share this light with you guys!”
Sadurska surpassed her previous record of 86m/282ft set only days earlier.
This year has been a dominant one for Sadurska in the CNF discipline.
In September, Sadurska brought home CNF gold medals at both the AIDA Depth World Championships in Cyprus as well as the CMAS Depth World Championships in Greece.
In a statement, CMAS lauded Sadurska’s exploit:
“What Kateryna is doing in CNF is rewriting the limits of focus, courage and human performance underwater.
“All our congratulations to Kateryna for this unbelievable achievement and her 9th world record.”
