Acclaimed freediving instructor and consultant Kirk Krack is set to feature at this year’s Diving Talks in Portugal.
The event is scheduled to take place on October 7 and 8, 2022. The former DAN Rolex Diver of the Year for 2016 is a freediving pioneer, having set up the world’s first freediving education system in 2000, Performance Freediving International (PFI).
Krack has many achievements in a varied and interesting career, including coaching seven athletes to set 23 freediving world records. Since 2017, he has been a consultant and trainer on James Cameron’s Avatar sequel.
During five years working on the film, he has overseen over 250,000 freedives with durations as long as 4.5 minutes and with 26 people underwater. During this time, there was not a single hypoxic or blackout event.
