Anthony’s Key Resort has announced the installation of the largest private solar energy field at its facility on Roatan.
The mammoth field covers more than two acres and can provide over 300kWh from the more than 1,000 installed solar panels. During the day, the field generates more than enough electricity to power the entire resort.
The installation is part of Anthony’s Key Resort’s “environmental sustainability initiative” and joins a host of other initiatives, including water conservations and single-use plastic elimination.
Commenting on the installation, Anthony’s Key General Manager Samir Galindo said:
“We’re looking to reduce our carbon footprint and create our own renewable energy. This will allow us to reduce costs and take another step toward protecting the environment.”
