NAUI has announced the appointment of Ricki Oxford as its new executive director.

NAUI has announced the appointment of Ricki Oxford as its new executive director.

Oxford will take up his role with NAUI from February 1, 2026.He has had an illustrious career in public health as well as being an experienced diver.

Highlights of Oxford’s career include:

  • More than 25 years of global public health leadership,
  • Seasoned diver with 1,000+ dives across tropical and cold-water environments, including reefs, caves, and wrecks.
  • Dive professional, active technical and cave diver, and certified EMT, combining advanced technical expertise with emergency-response qualifications and instructional credibility.
  • Has led several complex, mission-driven organizations with a focus on strengthening systems, building local leadership, and delivering results at scale.

As the new executive director, Oxford aims to support instructors and members, modernize training materials and systems as well as grow NAUI globally while preserving consistent local standards.

NAUI said Oxford will all deliver a commitment to high-quality, responsive, diver-centered education.
