Ocean Technology Systems (OTS) is putting its PowerCom 3000D wireless diver communication unit front and center at DEMA Show 2025, positioning it as the next-generation replacement for the company’s long-serving Aquacom SSB-2010.
The new model keeps the same basic through-water workflow but jumps from the legacy unit’s 5 watts of output and roughly 2,000 meters (6,560 feet) of range to 25 watts and a nominal 3,000 meters (9,840 feet), giving public safety, commercial and military teams more headroom when conditions get tough.
Under the hood, the 3000D swaps mid-1980s potted electronics for modern 2020s boards with faster processing that can be replaced if there’s a fault, rather than scrapping an entire sealed module.
Topside, the matching PowerCom 3000S surface station provides the control end of the system, delivering 25 watts of output, four channels and up to a 3,000-meter (9,840-foot) nominal range to mirror the 3000D underwater. It is part of a broader family of PowerCom and MilCom surface stations that step up in power and range for more demanding applications.
All of them share newer lithium-ion architecture, ruggedized housings and convenience features such as transducer cages, improved battery indicators and weather-rated microphones.
Pricing puts the PowerCom 3000D firmly in the professional gear category, with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of US$1,999/~€1,720.
The PowerCom 3000S surface station lists for around $3,699/~€3,180 for teams that want a matched diver and surface package built from the ground up around the new platform.
