The upcoming feature film “Sharing Air” has officially partnered with the Rainbow Reef Dive Center, one of the most respected and established dive operations in the Florida Keys and longtime supporter of dive charity organization Diveheart.
As part of this collaboration, DJ Wood, founder and owner of Rainbow Reef Dive Center, has joined the film as an executive oroducer, and Billy Wise, longtime Rainbow Reef general manager and dive professional, has come on board as associate producer.
The partnership reflects the filmmakers’ commitment to authenticity, safety and honoring real dive culture by working directly with experienced professionals who live and breathe the underwater world.
“Sharing Air” centers on a group of individuals navigating life through various levels of challenge who discover healing and freedom through scuba diving. The film follows a diverse group of people confronting loss, disability and personal struggle as they find connection and transformation beneath the surface. Inspired by real experiences within the adaptive diving community, the story emphasizes collective resilience rather than individual heroism.
The film features a professional cast alongside real adaptive divers and volunteers from the Diveheart-trained community, grounding the story in lived experience. The narrative begins in Chicago, where a group of divers come together to earn their scuba certification before traveling to the Florida Keys for a week-long dive trip that mirrors the real world journey many divers take.

Rainbow Reef Dive Center is a PADI 5 Star Dive Center located in Key Largo and has introduced thousands of divers to the underwater world, from first time students to seasoned professionals. It has a long history of supporting adaptive diving, most notably through its ongoing support of Diveheart, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people with physical, cognitive and emotional challenges through adaptive scuba diving and water therapy.
DJ Wood has been a longtime donor and supporter of Diveheart’s mission to help individuals experience freedom, weightlessness and confidence underwater.

“Sharing Air” mirrors the structure of real dive programs by training in cold-water environments and then traveling to warm-water destinations where transformation happens both above and below the surface. Filming is scheduled to begin this month, starting in Chicago and then transitioning to the Florida Keys.
