Three Divers Dead After Red Sea Liveaboard Fire

-

Three British divers were confirmed dead after a fire took place aboard the Red Sea liveaboard MV Hurricane this past weekend.

According to tour travel operator Scuba Travel which chartered the vessel from Tornado Marine Fleet:

“It is with great regret that we, as tour operator, with heavy hearts, must accept that three of our much-valued dive guests, perished in the tragic incident.

“Our sincere and heartfelt condolences go out to their families and friends at this very sad time.”

Egypt’s Red Sea Governorate said in a statement that an initial examination had determined that an “electrical short circuit in the engine room” was the cause of the fire.

The incident took place on the last day of a dive trip that began on June 6th, according to news reports.
