World Freediving Champs fin off in Sharm

The 4th Individual World Championship for freediving fins off today in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.  Apnea Academy are the organisers, and the training and competitions will take place in the Sharm Club Hotel.  The criteria of selection are the top ten athletes taken from AIDA ranking 2006, with 3 women and 3 men per AIDA national (country).  There is no minimum performance requirement.

The first discipline of the day will be Constant Weight (Women), and we have heard from sources the following announced depths:

Natalia Molchanova (Russia) 95 metres

Sara Campbell (UK) 88 metres

Annelie Pompe (Sweden) 77 metres

Linda Paganelli (Italy) 72 metres

Maria Livbjerg (Denmark) 63 metres
