DAN Europe Sustainable Tour 2022 Arrives In London

-

The Divers Alert Network Europe’s Sustainable Tour 2022 arrived in London today, and will travel across the U.K. and Ireland in a Hyundai electric vehicle.

During the trip, DAN Europe Ambassadors Alana Alvarez and Manuel Bustelo will be educating people in schools, diving and swimming clubs on making the activity safer, more accessible and sustainable.

The DAN team will only use IONITY’s high-power charging stations on the U.K. tour because the chargers exclusively use electricity that is generated from renewable sources of energy.

Electric travel helps to decarbonize the transport and mobility sector that is responsible for a quarter of all greenhouse gas emissions in the EU. Decarbonization needs electrification and electrification needs infrastructure, which is why IONITY is building a pan-European, high-power charging network which is open to electric vehicles of all brands.

Manuel Bustelo, a sustainability consultant for DAN Europe, says:

“We are grateful to have such an engaged partner in IONITY, that is passionate about driving the change with us and contributing to a sustainable development of our oceans.”

And IONITY U.K. and Ireland Country Manager Andreas Atkins adds:

“We want to do more than just provide 100% renewable electricity at our charging stations. That is why we support initiatives such as DAN Europe and their Sustainable Tour in educating the public, so everyone can take the right steps and make a positive contribution to a healthier planet. Traveling to and from mainland Europe emissions-free and carbon-neutral is absolutely possible with IONITY, with 1,841 high-power chargers providing only and exclusively electricity that is generated from renewable sources of energy.”
