The Divers Alert Network has announced the launch of its annual giving campaign to raise donations for DAN to support its operations worldwide.
Donations to DAN are tax-deductible and help divers, dive physicians and the diving community worldwide, including:
- DAN’s 24/7 Emergency Hotline: Provides dedicated medics, nurses, and physicians. Who provides assistance to divers and medical professionals during diving emergencies? The hotline handles 3,500 to 5,000 calls annually.
- The DAN Medical Information Line: This gives divers, medics, and experts answers to nonemergency questions. Answers cover a wide range of topics about dive medicine, fitness to dive, medications, and more. The hotline handles 3,000–4,000 calls annually.
- DAN’s extensive Physician Referral Network: This network provides divers access to a worldwide network of physicians who are trained in dive medicine, to undertake diver medical evaluation and treatment.
- Continuing Medical Education (CME): DAN hosts a wide range of specialized courses that expand medical providers’ dive medicine expertise
- Recompression Chamber Assistance Program (RCAP): DAN performs assessments, training, and upgrades to hyperbaric chamber facilities in popular dive areas around the world.
Those who make a donation of US$100/~€85 or more will receive a 2025 Friend of DAN hat.
