‘Girls That Scuba’ Attempt Female Divers World Record In Gili Trawangan, Indonesia

-

A group of 48 women from the largest community of female scuba divers, “Girls That Scuba,” have attempted to set a new world record for the largest number of female scuba divers diving together in a single dive.

The event took place at Gili Trawangan in Indonesia.

While the event was not initially planned, the women realized at their latest get-together that they had an excellent turnout and might be setting a record. They checked online and it turned out that the record did not exist, so they immediately registered and began the process to create a new Guinness World Record. The verification and approval process by Guinness can take up to 12 weeks.

The day was not only about setting the record, but also included a presentation by coral expert Nicole Henderson, a small introduction to technical diving, as well as the opportunity to try double tanks in the pool. The day ended with a photo slideshow along with a barbeque and drinks at the Manta Dive Café.
