The National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI), one of the first training agencies established for scuba diving within the USA, honored its members with annual awards at the DEMA Show Thursday.
Hall of Honor Awards, the agency’s highest honor, were awarded to four long-standing members: Jeanne Dear Sleeper, James Hicks, Cheri Boone, and Susan Bangasser.
Environmental Enrichment Awards were given to Scubanauts International and Kim Skaalen.
Jacques De Beer was honored with the Outstanding Training Support Award and a slew of other members received Continuing Service Awards.
NAUI Director of Training Terrence Tysall said:
“We are so happy to be able to honor our members and have an opportunity for these inspirational leaders in the industry to be here to interact with and inspire our younger members.”
