Sometimes people might wonder why anyone would want to buy a watch that is waterproof to a depth of 12,000 meters or 39,600 feet or 6,600 fathoms.
“For the same reason why someone might buy a Hummer over a Honda,” replies Mike Gee of the American Watch Co., whose Xtreme Diving Watch is waterproof to the above-mentioned depths.
Business must be good, because as of Thursday (Oct. 6), not only had Gee sold the 900 watches he brought with him to the DEMA Show in Las Vegas ($1,300 retail), but he had back orders all the way to next March.
