Nominations For DAN’s Rolex Diver Of The Year Award Now Open

The Divers Alert Network has announced that nominations for the Rolex Diver of the Year award are now open.

In keeping with DAN’s dedication to diver safety and education, the award is presented to:

“An individual who has made significant contributions to dive safety and/or the DAN mission over the past year.”

The 2018 award winner will be selected by a committee that includes DAN board members, senior staff, and none other than DAN CEO and president Bill Ziefle. Nominees who qualify for the award will be notified by January 12, 2018. The winner will be notified by February 2, 2018.

The winner of the 2018 DAN Rolex Diver of the Year will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to the 2018 Beneath the Sea Dive Show in Secaucus, New Jersey. The show will be held between March 23-25, 2018. In addition, the winner will receive an engraved Oyster Perpetual Rolex Dive Watch.

Rolex will also provide a donation to DAN of US$15,000/€12,684/£11,179 to support the organization’s safety and research programs.

Interested candidates have until December 31, 2017 to submit their applications. Prospective nominees are expected to complete an application that highlights their various contributions to dive safety. Applications must be submitted via email to Garrett Broyles at
