Quake changed floor of Puget Sound

“Scuba divers say the Nisqually earthquake also shook up the bottom of Puget Sound.

Scuba instructor Ron Holloway visited the popular Delco Wall diving ground near Vashon Island after last week’s six-point-eight quake. He says it received quite a facelift.

Small cracks in the wall are now huge, and caverns that were previously closed are open. He says it’s exciting for divers, because they have new areas to explore.

Holloway also says divers miss the wolf eels that lived in Delco Wall. The eels would eat out of the diver’s hands, but they’re now gone.

Holloway thinks they were scared away by the sudden change caused by the earthquake. “
