Trash Hero Malaysia and Reef Check Malaysia have teamed up to promote a national cleanup effort as part of the International Coastal Cleanup Day.
Both organizations will be working together to promote a nationwide cleanup effort on Saturday, September 21st, 2019. The event is in conjunction with the World Clean-up Day (WCUD) and the International Coastal Clean-up Day (ICC).
According to Mohd Faisal Abdir Rani, the leader of Trash Hero Malaysia:
“In the effort for a cleaner Malaysia, THM hopes this event will inspire more Malaysians to be aware of littering and create a more mindful society about the waste issue surrounding us.”
According to Julian Hyde from Reef Check Malaysia:
“Beach clean-ups are a tool to raise awareness on marine debris. The long-term goal is to prevent trash from escaping into the environment in the first place, and it is everyone’s responsibility to practice better waste management and recycling habits.”
