Sea & Sea Announces First Fully Amphibious Digital Camera

Sea & Sea Aquapix The AquaPix is the first full featured 3.1 megapixel digital camera that is fully amphibious. This greatly reduces the chance of potential water damage and flooding of the camera. In addition, having access to ALL camera controls, alleviates the water damage problem. If the diver does sustain water damage, the AquaPix is fully insured by DEPP insurance, "Out of the Box".

It uses a meniscus lens that can be used above or below the surface. The standard lens has a focal length of 38mm and utilizes all of the lenses designed for the the Sea & Sea MX10 underwater camera.

The AquaPix Contains a built in 16 MB memory, allowing the photographer to capture 20 images in the 3MB fine mode.  In addition, the camera has the ability to utilize Smart Media cards with a maximum capacity of 128 megabytes of memory, greatly extending the number of images that can be taken while underwater.

Last but not least the Aquapix is capable of capturing over 2 minutes video which is saved in the AVI video format.

Photo Pro for Sea & Sea, Holly Alentado, enthusiastically said that the AquaPix and the YS25DX/Autostrobe are a “perfect combination” for creative underwater digital photography. It is also compatible with the more powerful YS90DX/Auto underwater strobe with its fiber optic sync cord.

The AquaPix is easy to use and its compact size make the camera the perfect companion for dive trips – whether snorkeling, scuba or freediving.
