The Cove Wins again – watch the movie on YouTube

Last night the Producers Guild of America awarded “The Cove” as the Best Documentary Theatrical Motion Picture of 2009 at the Hollywood Palladium. The film’s producers are Paula DuPré Pesmen and Fisher Stevens.

This adds to the many awards and accolades the film has garnered, including three Cinema Eye Awards; best of Festival at the BLUE Oceans film festival 2009, a Directors Guild nomination for Louie Psihoyos, a Critics Choice Award earlier this month and the “Audience Award” at the Sundance Film Festival last year.

And for DB readers who have not had the chance to see the film yet there is good news. Last week YouTube & Sundance announced that they will be making The Cove available for rental on YouTube during the festival.

Performance Freediving instructors, Mandy-Rae Cruickshank and Kirk Krack were vital to the production of the documentary, which is also on the short list for an Academy Award.
