Three countries registered so far for the 2016 CMAS World Spearfishing Championship

Three countries have already registered for the CMAS World Spearfishing Championship
Three countries have already registered for the CMAS World Spearfishing Championship.

Three countries have already registered for the CMAS World Spearfishing Championship scheduled for this coming September, the Hellenic Federation of Underwater Activities and Sportfishing recently announced.

In addition to host country Greece, the USA and Australia have also electronically signed up for the World Championship, to be held on Syros Island in the South Aegean Sea from September 15th to September 19th.

The potential competitors could include Croatia’s Daniel Gospic, Portugal’s Jodi Lot and Spaniard Xavi Blanco. All three have each won a Euroafrican and a world spearfishing title.

Ukrainian freediving and spearfishing company Deep Master is sponsoring the event.

Certain local hotels are offering a 30 percent discount for all participants.

The deadlines for countries to electronically submit the “Initial Entry Form” and the final “Entry Form” are March 31st and June 1st, respectively
