“Subseaexplorer.com is a new site dedicated to education in the underwater realm. As part of their launch they are offering the chance to win a trip to the Titanic.
Your home for the expedition will be the Akademik Keldysh, one of the largest deep diving support vessels in the world. On reaching the site of the Titanic shipwreck, 368 miles southeast of Newfoundland, you will receive a comprehensive briefing before you board the submersible. You will be able to view marine life through the MIR’s three plexiglass portholes, which are seven inches thick, and for three to five hours you will have ample time to explore all the wreckage and the surrounding area, and your observations will be used for continuing research.
Your expedition will be recorded for posterity, with still and video cameras outside the MIR, while an internal video captures your reaction and your observations.
