World Ocean Explorer Online DEEP SEA Exhibit Opens In January 2022

-

The World Ocean Observatory’s new, online DEEP SEA Exhibit is set to open to the public on January 10th, 2022.

It’s the first exhibit of the W2O’s virtual aquarium and is sponsored by the Schmidt Ocean Institute.

The exhibit will showcase discoveries during Schmidt’s many deep-sea expeditions, most specifically their Australia Campaign in 2020.

The interactive exhibit will be available for casual, curious viewers but also for formal and informal education about the ocean and its unique biodiversity and value.

The World Ocean Explorer online aquarium is based on realistic aquarium design: visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the exhibit, wander the halls, interact with marine environments and displays, and explore species otherwise not available in a traditional aquarium environment.

Check out a video of what the exhibit will look like below, or go to the W2O website for more info.
