The Our World-Underwater Dive & Travel Expo has announced that legendary cave explorer and filmmaker Jill Heinerth is being honored with the Our World-Underwater Outstanding Achievement Award.
Jill has dove deeper into caves than any other woman in history and as an award winning filmmaker Jill has worked from the iceberg caves of Antarctic to the Florida Aquifer and to subterranean Siberia.
The Our World-Underwater Outstanding Achievement Award dates back to 1971 and honors those divers whose life work has advanced and promoted diving. Past award winners include such legendary figures as the Cousteaus, Al Giddings, Dr. Sylvia Earle and Stan Waterman. This years award will be presented during the Our World-Underwater Dive & Travel Expo February 15-17 2013 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL, just outside of Chicago.
