Bay of Plenty diving incident

NewstalkZB

Another incident in New Zealand reports of a man has died in a diving incident at Cape Runaway, the eastern side of the Bay of Plenty.

Te Kaha police say the 49-year-old, from Opotiki, had been diving with family at a spot below the Cape Runaway lighthouse.

He was found by the family a short while after he began his dive, floating and unconscious.

Despite attempts to resuscitate him by the family, and medical assistance at the Waihau Bay boat ramp, he died.

On the 27th of December a woman diver went missing in the Bay of Plenty and has still not been found. A polie dive team has commission a search as yet to no avail.
