The 8th edition of the Caribbean Cup in Roatan has kicked off with an impressive 4 National Records falling.
Honduran Tourism Institute and Mayan Princess Beach & Dive Resort are sponsoring the world-class event this year and competitiors will be competing for top spots in Constant Weight (CWT), Constant Weight No Fins (CNF), Free Immersion (FIM), and Constant Weight Bi-Fins (CWTBF) disciplines.

The first record of the day went to Rafal Poliwoda from Poland with a 80m/262ft Constant Weight Bi-Fins (CWTB) dive in 2mins 47sec.

Ricardo Montans from Argentina was next with his 2mins 45secs dive to 74m/242ft also in Constant Weight Bi-Fins (CWTB).

The third record of the day was set by Marco Guirola from El Salvador with a 60m/197ft Constant Weight Bi-Fins (CWTB) dive in 2mins 10secs.

The last dive of the day was by local Honduran Andrea C. Merlo who set a 21m/69ft Free Immersion (FIM) dive in 55secs. It’s always been great to see local divers compete in the Caribbean Cup and it’s fantastic the traditional keeps up this year.
