Check Out South Africa’s Handicapped Scuba Association Dive Buddy Program

The Handicapped Scuba Association in South Africa has announced its “Dive Buddy Program.”

The course aims to teach non-disabled divers how to share their dives and underwater realm with divers with disabilities.

The new course features classroom, open water, and confined water training sessions during which candidate will learn a host of skills, including:

  • Learning about the different aspects and types of disabilities.
  • What considerations are needed when leading divers with disabilities.
  • Understanding accessibility issues and safe practices.
  • Understating the planning and logistics side of diving with divers with disabilities.
