A 183ft freighter, the "Lady Laura" is set to become Florida’s newest wreck, final preparations are underway for the vessel to be sunk nine miles notheast of the St Lucie Inlet, as part of Martin County’s Artifical Reef Program.
However the planned depth is estimated at 190ft – thus beyond the limits of recreational divers, but for tech divers the Lady Laura could offer a new challenge.
County Officials are awaiting final clearance from the Coastguard and its hoped that the sinking will be in January dependant on a three day weather window.
