Equinox Introduces Two New Housings

-

Equinox Propak 6spc Equinox Housings, one of the major innovators in the development of quality housings for today’s modern digital imaging systems, has announced two new housings designed specifically for two new digital video cameras from Sony and Canon.

The ProPak 6spc continues the Equinox tradition of excellence and performance with a lightweight and functional housing sure to appeal to underwater videographers of all skill levels.

The ProPak 6spc model is available for use with either the new Sony PC 105 or the Canon Elura 50 digital video cameras. The ProPak is made from a lightweight and highly durable thermoplastic exterior. This makes the housing more maneuverable and simple to use underwater. In addition, the material virtually eliminates the chance of corrosion and greatly reduces the potential for wear damage.

The housing, which is built to be low profile so it is easy to travel with, features five manual controls (on/off switch, start/stop recording, photo mode, memory switch and zoom). A wide angle lens and the user’s choice of a color correction filter for either fresh or salt water use and a convenient spare parts kit round out the ProPak 6spc package.

"Like all Equinox housings, the ProPak 6spc is designed to provide excellent performance with all of the important features that photographers need during a dive," points out TJ Mansfield of Equinox. "This new housing is a small, well-balanced unit that is specifically engineered to work with two of the newest, most popular digital video cameras on the market today."

Some of the performance advantages that the ProPak delivers include an expansive interior that provides for LCD displays, a sleek design which makes traveling much simpler and the unique Equinox emergency safety system. This system allows users to protect their camera assembly through a "quick ballast" release that immediately makes the assembly positively buoyant sending it quickly to the surface in case of trouble.

Rated to depths of up to 250 feet, the ProPak 6spc carries the Equinox 3-year warranty guarantee, one of the longest in the industry. Available now from authorized Equinox dealers, the new housing has a suggested retail price of $999.
