The family of a woman who died whilst learning to dive in Motobu (Japan) last July has launched a law suit for 130 million Yen (approx $1,000,000 US Dollars) against the dive store and travel company that organised the trip.
The victim a schoolteacher had goneto Okinawa on 3 night 4 day trip that included a scuba diving course. On the first day the woman indicated that she did not feel well and commenced to surface. Upon surfacing she lost conciousness and was taken to hospital where she stayed in a coma for 9 days before dying.
The lawsuit could provide a pivotal decision that affects dive instructors and dive shops in Japan
