Two scuba divers had the most unusual of finds while out looking for lobsters under the Card Sound Bridge in the Florida Keys: They stumbled across a human skull.
According to the Sport Diver website, the divers from Naples, Florida had come for the day to hunt for lobsters under the bridge that connects the Florida mainland with Key Largo.
Upon finding the skull the divers surfaced and alerted the Florida fish and wildlife authorities.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s department confirmed that the remains have been handed over to the medical examiner’s office and an investigation is underway.
Major Crimes Detective Bob Dosh has urged anyone with any information to come forward, or contact the Crime Stoppers hotline if they want to remain anonymous.
