Freediving the Ionian Sea with Fred Buyle and William Winram

World-class and intrepid breath-hold divers Fred Buyle and William Winram are organising a freediving/sailing trip to Greece this year.  The trip is to the Ionian Sea, which is the most accessible sailing area in Greece.

From north to south, Kerkyra (Corfu), Paxi (Paxos), Lefkada (Lefkas), Ithaki (Ithaca), Keffalonia (Kefalonia) and Zakynthos (Zante) are the largest islands and along with many other smaller ones consist of a uniquely protected archipelago. The Ionian Islands are considered by most as the absolute sailing paradise combining fair weather, many anchorage points and short passages.

Their aim is to guide divers through the blue waters to discover and explore the underwater world the way they feel it was meant to be experienced: while breath-hold diving.

Their teaching style includes the latest freediving techniques, environmental awareness and, of course, fun! Both Buyle and Winram have extensive knowledge of the underwater world and its inhabitants, and are famous for freediving with large marine life, such as sharks in South Africa and whales in Polynesia.  This is a primordial component that is often underestimated in freediving education.

Non-freedivers are also welcomed on board.

Any level of practice is welcomed, 1*, 2*, 3* AIDA and CMAS courses are available and fine-tuning for
advanced freedivers will be available. For more information contact: info@OceanEncounters.net
