Gulf Divers warn of Starfish destruction

Divers in the Gulf states are becoming increasingly concerned about the coral reefs in the area being destroyed by increasing numbers of starfish. Hassan Abdul Jabbar, a local MSDT told the Gulf News that reefs near Shark Island in Khor Fakkan are already dead and is impacting on the quality of diving in the area. Flushing of Ballast tanks is believed to be a major factor in the prolific growth of the starfish and the drop in water quality
