Healthy belugas born at Sea World

Two beluga whale calves were born four day apart at Sea World in San Antonio, Texas. One calf was born to a 9 year old mother and the other to a 22 year old mother. A spokeman for the park say that the 1.5 metre long, 68 kilogramme calves look in good shape.

The calves will nurse for a year before going on to a solid fish diet.

Visitors can view mothers and babies, but shows will be held off during family bonding period.
