Is The Biggest Fish in the World Shrinking ?

Darwin, Australia – A BBC news story features reports by a spokesman for the Australian Institute for Marine Science (AIMS), according to which the average size of whale sharks observed in Australian waters has decreased substantially.

The AIMS spokesman cited observations by local ‘eco-tourism’ operators as the source of data upon which his reports are based.
