Brut Media launched a new episode of “Operation Milagro” to highlight the plight of the Vaquita plight and the efforts being undertaken to save them. Scientists estimate there are only six left in the wild!
The footage for the episode was shot by filmmaker Léo Hamelin last year on the Sea Shepherd vessel Sea Horse. The episode focuses primarily on the effort and dedication of the crew working on the boat and how they coordinate their efforts with the Mexican Navy.
It’s a constant battle between the crew and navy on one side, and illegal fishermen on the other, to give the small porpoise a chance to survive.
