The launch of the U.S. Freediving Federation will be announced this week at the CMAS General Assembly Meeting in Phuket Thailand. The announcement will be made by tech entrepreneur and freediver Jeremy Stephen.
According to Stephen:
“The Federation is dedicated to safety, education, and building a supportive community of responsible divers.”
The new federation will offer five different membership levels ranging in price from US$0 to $150/€121. What makes the federation unique, is that three of its membership levels will also provide comprehensive insurance coverage.
Stephen hopes that the new federation will increase the scope and reach of freediving in the United States, as well as start to build a community of freedivers.
The US Freediving Federation hopes to hold its first official competition in Kona, Hawaii later in the summer.
