OTS is showcasing their Spectrum Full Face Mask with new accessories and color options for divers at this year’s DEMA Show.
The Spectrum was released last year, and what makes this full face mask unique is that you can adapt your personal second-stage regulator to the mask. This allows divers to slightly modify their equipment for a full face mask experience without the expensive price tag. The hypoallergenic silicone skirt has a double seal to help prevent water from leaking into the mask. If you already own the Guardian FFM, you will not find any difference in the sizing and securing.
However, you will notice that equalizing your ears and mask is a bit different. The Spectrum is a wide-view, single-pane mask with a flexible nose pocket. Divers equalize their ears as they normally would with a standard mask, but will need to use the regulator to assist with clearing a flooded mask.
OTS this year is introducing customers to the new features than can be added onto the Spectrum. In addition to through-water communications, Spectrum FFM divers will have the option to add the Ambient Breathing Valve to their mask. This feature allows the comfort of breathing ambient air when floating on the surface. The notable accessory is that divers now can mouth their GoPros directly to the mask.
OTS now offers the Spectrum in 4 different colors: black skirt/clear glass, black skirt/reflective glass, blue skirt/clear class, and blue skirt/reflective glass.
The Spectrum (mask alone) retails for US$399/343 Euros. For more info, check out the OTS website.
