Reef Renewal Foundation Bonaire To Hold Fourth ‘Reefiesta’ This Weekend

The Reef Renewal Foundation Bonaire has announced that it will be holding its annual “Reefiesta” to celebrate World Reef Day on June 1, 2019.

This will be the fourth year that Bonaire has celebrated World Reef Day with a Reefiesta.

In Bonaire, the Reefiesta asks divers to come and participate in reef restoration efforts. Participants do not need previous coral restoration experience to take part; the only requirement is to be certified divers. During the Reefiesta, all dives will be led by an experienced guide from the foundation, and dive operator staff who will be helping transplant the corals. The Reefiesta will wrap up with a sunset beach celebration.

Across the world, World Reef Day is a call to action for people across the globe to make a change by making simple choices in their daily lives, with the ultimate goal to save our coral reefs.
