The Reef-World Foundation has announced the release of a new updated Green Fins Dive Guide e-Course.
The free course is aimed at dive guides and professionals and helps to teach them about marine ecosystems and help them develop more environmentally friendly dive practices.
The newly updated course now features an extended and updated marine biology section providing more information about:
- Coral reefs.
- Marine ecosystems.
- Conservation and environmental threats today.
This is the first update to the course since its first release in 2019. The Reef-World Foundation is planning to update the course content every year to include the latest updated information.
Commenting on the updated course, Reef-World Foundation Director JJ Harvey stated:
“As global tourism slowly restarts, it’s crucial to stay up to date with the latest environmental knowledge. To protect coral reefs and minimise local threats to allow them to be more resilient and the chance to recover from other wider stressors effects such as climate change. Reef-World aims to continue providing dive professionals with the latest marine conservation and dive industry updates to help preserve the coral reef ecosystems, which many rely on for food, coastal protection, and income from tourism and fisheries.”
