For the last nine years, VIP Diving Bonaire has supported the unique STINAPA Bonaire Junior Ranger Program.
The program allows the island youths to develop an interest in diving and conservation and gives them a possible career path. Many STINAPA Bonaire Junior Rangers have gone on to become scuba instructors, STINAPA Bonaire Rangers, or marine biologists.
The Junior Rangers have a rank system through which they can progress, with each rank earning additional duties and responsibilities, not to mention experience and certifications. The Junior Ranger Program ranks are as follows:
- Kadets
- Troupers
- Deputies
- Captains
- Commanders
Every June, a graduation ceremony is held to celebrate the achievements of the individuals involved, and this year was no different, with two Junior Rangers now qualifying as PADI Divemasters.
