The sense of anticipation is immense as the world’s most prestigious freediving competition – Vertical Blue – kicks off today at Dean’s Blue Hole in the Bahamas.
Forty-two freedivers from across the world have arrived and are ready to compete in Constant Weight No Fins (CNF), Constant Weight (CWT), and Free Immersion (FIM) disciplines between 1st August – 11th August 2022.
As usual, the lineup for the first day of the competition looks to be spectacular – with 9 National Records announced, 2 Continental Records, and Alenka Artnik (Slovenia) looking to set a Constant Weight (CWT) World Record with a 123m dive.
The action starts at 9am Eastern, 6am Pacific, 2pm UK, and 7pm Sydney/AEST and don’t forget to get your live stream pass for Diveye.

The world-renowned Freediving photographer and videographer Daan Verhoeven is back onsite to cover the competition. There have already been some stunning images appearing from the competition site during training.
