25-year-old Arnauld Jerald of France, specifically came to Vertical Blue 2021 to achieve a Constant Weight Bi-Fins (CWTBF) world record on the world’s most prominent freediving stage.
“I started freediving about four years ago, and in the time that I have been competing I have specifically chosen to improve in the bifins category,” shared Jerald. “Bi-fins is my heart right now and I want to continue to go deeper before I begin my journey in Constant Weight (CWT).”
Arnauld’ bi-fins dive to 117m took three minutes and 30 seconds and with a shake of his head to remove the hypoxia he presented the judges his hard-earned tag.
“It is a really nice competition, Vertical Blue,” said Arnaud. “This is my first participation here, and I really enjoy, and I feel really safe with the safety team. And for me the vibe with the other freedivers is really important and here it is like a paradise for diving.”
