Freediving is a rapidly growing sport in China. On 27th & 28th August 2016, a group of freedivers in China came together and enjoyed a 2-day pool competition in the Capital city, Beijing at the Zhong Guan Cun culture and sports center.

The competition was held under AIDA rules and covered the 3 pool disciplines – Static (STA), Dynamic (DYN) and Dynamic No Fins (DNF).

Two new Chinese National Records were set by Jessea Lu – a 8min 1sec Static (STA) breath-hold and a 177m Dynamic (DYN) pool dive.

Gold medals were won by Chen Hai Xiong for the men and Jessea Lu for the women.  Prizes included a custom wetsuit from Bestdive (overall winner), Gopro Hero4 silver camera (gold-individual discipline), luggage roller bag from Cressi (silver-individual discipline), mask and rashguard from Hammerhead Spearguns (bronze-individual discipline).
