As reported on July 23, 2003, 3 world records were attempted and were pending ratification by AIDA International, which is the worlds largest organization for the recognition of world records in the sport of freediving.
According to AIDA representitive Deiter Baumann, Danish Freediver, Stig Aavall Severinsen, countryman Peter Pedersen and Swedish female freediver, Yamina Enedahl-Mekki all have their record attempts fully recognized as new world records (Subject to anti-doping test results).
