The Blue Wild Ocean Adventure Expo is gearing up for its biggest year yet in 2017. The Expo’s 10th year anniversary will see 65,000 square feet of show floor with 160 exhibitors and 5,000 attendees (including DeeperBlue.com).
What started as a small spearfishing charity event has evolved into a full-grown Ocean Adventure Expo. It not only includes freediving and spearfishing, but also scuba, marine art, underwater photography and videography, lobstering, paddle boarding, water toys, kayaks, and more. The popular Kids Zone has face painting, art classes, and crab races – something for the whole family.
The Expo is known for a high-energy and fun vibe, as well as one of the youngest attendee demographics in the industry. The diverse crowd includes visitors and exhibitors from all over the world.
Attendees love the variety of celebrity speakers and hands-on workshops. Past speakers include the “who’s who” of the underwater world. This includes freedivers such as William Trubridge and Umberto Pelizzari, Gator Boys Chris Gillette and Manny Puig, and diving pioneers Stan Waterman, Art Pinder, and Dr. Eugenie Clark. Workshops for the next show include: Working your GoPro, Lionfish Cook-off, Yoga for Divers, and more.
For Marine Art fans, The Blue Wild has one of the most impressive collections — from the world-renowned to the local scene. The Expo also includes an underwater Photo & Video Contest co-sponsored with the South Florida Underwater Photography Society with trips and prizes worth over $5,000.
Returning exhibitors include Aqua Lung, Mares, Cressi, PADI, SEAC, Stuart Cove’s, DAN, Pelagic, Blackbeards, YETI, Riffe, UNEXSO, Wong Spearguns, and many more. The Expo is pleased to welcome several new exhibitors such as NAUI, Kids Sea Camp, Reef and Rainforest, and Coco View Resort. Adding to the excitement, the Expo also has state-of-the-art water toys featured by Nautical Ventures, Crystal Kayak, and Contender Boats.
The event will happen in Fort Lauderdale April 22-23, 2017. For more information, check out www.TheBlueWild.com.
