Los Angeles, CA – The World Free Diving Medical Association (WFDMA) has enlisted the active participation of the global freediving community in an historic program of medical research.
Cedars-Sinai pulmonologist Dr. Ralph Potkin, WFDMA founder and principal investigator for the Association’s pilot studies of cerebral hypoxia and chest squeeze, has enlisted the support of freediving enthusiasts at all levels of performance and experience.
Interested freedivers worldwide are invited to join the WFDMA as members and to take part in the Association’s pioneering research. An interactive questionnaire addressing the phenomenon of chest squeeze is now active on the WFDMA website, and all interested freedivers are invited to contribute.
Dr. Potkin recently discussed his groundbreaking research on the NBC Today show. The interview can be viewed here.
