The I AM WATER Ocean Conservation, the global non-profit founded by Freediver Hanli Prinsloo, is reaching the final stages of a crowd-funding campaign on IndieGoGo to raise $20,000 to fund a pilot project to get kids in the water, excited, engaged, inspired and deliver ocean conservation through human experience.
The funds are for I AM WATER – Project Ecuador – where the money will start up a pilot project where the organization will teach 100 children in 2 weeks the skills and knowledge for youth to become safe snorkelers and advocates for global ocean issues through a program of active two-day classroom and immersion teaching. This follows on from successful education workshops in South Africa, Mozambique and Bermuda.
Each participant will be coached by I AM WATER team instructors including world-record holding athletes, marine science experts, international filmmakers and ocean storytellers. They will become ambassadors of the ocean for their own families and communities.
With 42 hours to go the fund is at 43% ($8,215) and there are some amazing postcards, videos, original prints, bespoke Freediving courses and even an exclusive trip to Ecuador.
