Liv Philip beats UK National Static Apnea Record

The British FreedivingAssociation has announced a new UK record in the Women’s Static Apneadiscipline. On Saturday 23rd August 2008, at the AIDA 2008 WorldTeam Freediving Championship Pre-Competition, Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt, Liv Philipcompleted a performance of 5 minutes 35 seconds.  The new record beats herprevious one of 5 minutes 32 seconds, set in July 2007.

As well as Static Apnea, Liv holdsBritish records in Dynamic Apnea and Dynamic Apnea Without Fins. Liv is part ofthe British Freediving Team, who are about to compete in the main World TeamChampionship starting on the 1st September 2008. The Pre-Competitiongave team athletes a chance to compete as individuals in a number ofdisciplines.
