New World Publications has released updated versions of its “Reef Coral” and “Reef Creature” identification field guides for Florida, the Caribbean and the Bahamas at this week’s DEMA Show 2013.
The “Reef Creature Identification: Florida Caribbean Bahamas” field guide, first published in 1992, has been significantly expanded in a new third edition, authored by Les Will, Paul Humann and Ned DeLoach.
The popular, user-friendly field guide, covering all major groups of marine invertebrates encountered by divers on coral reefs and adjacent habitats, has grown to include 900 species documented with more than 1,200 underwater photos — nearly doubling the total compared to previous editions.
The 308-page book has a suggested retail price of $44.95.
The third edition of New World’s “Reef Coral Identification: Florida Caribbean Bahamas” guidebook written by Humann and DeLoach, originally published in 1993, includes additional photos documenting new species and growth variations. The expanded text incorporates the most current scientific research, including updated information about corals’ diseases and reproductive behavior.
The 276-page book has a suggested retail price of $39.95.
