The program was designed to promote underwater exploration, marine conservation, and underwater photography. In addition to the PADI open water training, this exciting program addition includes advice from National Geographic experts on preserving coral reefs, protecting species, and respecting historical sites and aquatic habitat.
The National Geographic Diver program is available through select PADI 5-star Dive Centers and Gold Palm resorts in the Americas and will expand to international territories in 2005. "The National Geographic Diver program combines our expertise in diver education with National Geographic Society’s marine experts and vast resources to create the ultimate undersea adventure," said Bob Coleman, executive vice president of sales and marketing, PADI Americas.
